Programmer Analyst / Developer (JAVA)

We are looking for a full-time Programmer Analyst/Developer who is responsible for analysis and maintenance of a claim administrative application. As an analyst/developer, you will identify the root cause of application issues, and develop, test and implement a solution based on root causes. The job calls for both technical capability and business understanding.

RAM's corporate offices are located in the northern suburbs of Philadelphia. This position reports to the Vice President of Application Development.


  • Working as part of a team.
  • Analyzing application issue root causes.
  • Debug, develop, test and implement application solutions.
  • Documentation of application solutions.

Candidate Requirements

  • JAVA, DB2 and Java IDEs - Eclipse, RAD, etc. experience required
  • Exposure to JSP, Struts, HTML, XML, Servlet, EJB and JDBC is a plus.
  • Experience with Unix is a plus.
  • Experience with WebSphere Application Server 8.x is a plus.
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience.
  • Application support analysis experience with healthcare software is a plus.
  • Prefer candidates with healthcare (Health Insurance Payer) industry experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience required.
  • Knowledge of MS Visio, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access is a plus.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

UNIX Systems Administrator

We are looking for a senior level UNIX Systems Administrator.


  • Installs, configures, and maintains UNIX operating systems.
  • Analyzes and resolves problems associated with the operating system's servers, hardware, applications, and software.
  • Detects, diagnoses, and reports UNIX related problems on servers.
  • Provides daily support for management of all AIX and Linux systems including operating system upgrades, storage and volume management, and hardware maintenance.
  • Manages operating system installation and administration of all AIX environments.
  • Collects and reviews system data for capacity and planning purposes. Analyzes capacity data and develops capacity plans for appropriate level enterprise-wide systems. Coordinates with appropriate management personnel in implementing changes.

The successful candidate will display skill levels in some or all of the following areas:

  • Operating Systems – AIX 6 and 7
  • Hardware – IBM P6 to P8

Implementation Project Manager


Responsible for the planning, organizing, and management of project tasks and resources to bring about the successful completion of project goals and objectives. Responsibilities include: identification of project objectives and goals, planning the work according to the objectives, assessing and controlling project risks, estimating resource requirements, allocating resources, organizing the work, assigning tasks, directing activities, controlling project execution, tracking and reporting progress, controlling project quality, managing and resolving project issues, identifying, managing and controlling project changes, communicating project status and issues to all stakeholders, and successfully completing project within time and budget constraints.

Duties Include:

  • Developing and managing project plan, tasks, timelines, milestones and deadlines
  • Coordinating work with functional area leaders and monitoring and reporting on project status and issues
  • Assigning tasks to staff and supervising work
  • Coordinating and responding to client issues

Minimum Requirements:

  • Industry Experience:  5 years in healthcare industry working in insurance company or software company providing solutions to insurance companies
  • Skills & Knowledge: MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Visio. Exceptional written and communication abilities.
  • Years of Experience:  10
  • Education:  Bachelor's Degree. Master's Degree Preferred. Certification in Project Management a plus.
  • Travel Requirements:  50% of time
